Steps to Convert AI into CDR
AI files are vector-based graphics created in Adobe Illustrator, while CDR is the proprietary format for CorelDRAW. These two programs are competitors, so there is no native one-click conversion, but you can export AI files in universal formats that CorelDRAW supports, then save as CDR.
1. Open AI File in CorelDRAW
- Start CorelDRAW.
- Go to File → Import and select your AI file.
- Choose the import settings (text, curves, fills, etc.).
- The file will open as editable vector content, then save as CDR.
2. Convert via PDF or EPS Export
For more reliable compatibility:
- In Adobe Illustrator, go to File → Save As.
- Choose PDF or EPS as the format.
- Open the exported file in CorelDRAW.
- Save the project as .cdr.
