Convert CAD to CDR Online

Free CAD to CDR Conversion Tool

Steps to Convert CAD into CDR

CAD files (such as DWG or DXF) are technical drawing formats commonly used in AutoCAD, while CDR is the native format for CorelDRAW. CorelDRAW supports importing CAD drawings, but sometimes conversion via PDF or SVG provides smoother results.

1. Import CAD File Directly into CorelDRAW

  • Open CorelDRAW.
  • Go to File → Import and choose your DWG or DXF CAD file.
  • Adjust scale, units, and layer options if prompted.
  • Once imported, save your project as CDR.

2. Convert CAD to DXF or Older Version if Needed

If your CAD file doesn’t import properly:

  • Open the file in AutoCAD, LibreCAD, or DWG TrueView.
  • Re-save it as a DXF (R12 or 2000 format often works best).
  • Import the DXF into CorelDRAW.
  • Save the result as CDR.

3. Online Conversion Workflow

With products.conholdate.app you can prepare CAD files for CorelDRAW:

4. Free Open-Source Option

If CorelDRAW doesn’t read your CAD file correctly:

  • Use LibreCAD or QCAD to open DWG/DXF.
  • Export the drawing as SVG.
  • Import the SVG into CorelDRAW.
  • Save as CDR.

ℹ️ Tip:
Importing DWG/DXF directly into CorelDRAW is the fastest route. If compatibility issues occur, go through DXF, PDF, or SVG as intermediate formats before saving to CDR.
