Online CMX to CDR Conversion

Convert CMX files to CDR online

How to Convert CMX into CDR

CMX is an older Corel Presentation Exchange format used for vector graphics, clipart, and presentation assets. CorelDRAW supports both CMX and CDR, making conversion simple — typically just an import and save operation. If your version of CorelDRAW does not directly support CMX, conversion to an intermediary format (like PDF or SVG) is recommended.

1. Open CMX Directly in CorelDRAW

  • Launch CorelDRAW.
  • Go to File → Open and choose the .cmx file.
  • CorelDRAW will import the CMX content into a new document.
  • Adjust layout, colors, or text if necessary and then Save As → CDR.

2. Convert CMX to CDR Using Export

If the file opens but you want to retain layers and effects:

  • Open the CMX file in CorelDRAW.
  • Make edits or verify that the content displays properly.
  • Go to File → Save As and select the CorelDRAW .cdr format.
  • Your CMX content is now saved as CDR.

3. Online Conversion Workflow

If CorelDRAW is not available, you can use an online method:

  • Upload your CMX file to products.conholdate.app/conversion.
  • Convert the file into PDF or SVG format.
  • Open the exported PDF/SVG in CorelDRAW.
  • Save the imported content as .cdr.

4. Alternative with Inkscape or Other Tools

Inkscape and some third-party converters may support CMX import:

  • Open the CMX in Inkscape (if supported).
  • Export the file to SVG or PDF.
  • Import the exported file into CorelDRAW.
  • Save it in native CDR format for editing and further use.

⚠️ Important:
CMX is an older Corel format mainly used for clipart exchange. Most CorelDRAW versions can open it directly. If compatibility issues arise, convert CMX into a standard vector format (SVG/PDF) before bringing it into CorelDRAW.
