Convert PNG to CDR Online

Free PNG to CDR Conversion Tool

Steps to Convert PNG into CDR

PNG images are raster-based, while CorelDRAW’s CDR format is vector-based. That means there is no one-click direct conversion. However, you can import a PNG into CorelDRAW and either keep it as an image inside your project or use tracing tools to turn it into vectors.

1. Bring PNG into CorelDRAW

  • Launch CorelDRAW on your computer.
  • Use File → Import and select your PNG file.
  • Click on the canvas to place the image.
  • To simply include the picture in a CDR file, just choose Save As → CDR.

2. Vectorize PNG for Editing

To make the image scalable and editable as a vector drawing:

  • Import the PNG into CorelDRAW.
  • Highlight the bitmap and go to Bitmap → Outline Trace.
  • Pick the most suitable tracing option (e.g., Logo, Detailed Image).
  • Fine-tune the traced shapes and then save your work as CDR.

3. Convert Online Before Import

You can also prepare the PNG outside of CorelDRAW using products.conholdate.app:

  • Transform PNG → SVG via the PNG to SVG online converter.
  • Open the resulting SVG file inside CorelDRAW.
  • Save it in native .cdr format.

4. Free Open-Source Method

If CorelDRAW isn’t available:

  • Use Inkscape to open the PNG file.
  • Go to Path → Trace Bitmap to generate vector paths.
  • Save the drawing as SVG.
  • Later, import that SVG into CorelDRAW and export to CDR.

ℹ️ Tip:
Keep in mind that embedding PNG inside CDR does not make it a vector. If you want true vector graphics, always use Outline Trace in CorelDRAW or convert PNG to SVG first.
