Online IGS to CDR Conversion

Convert IGS files to CDR online

How to Convert IGS into CDR

IGS (IGES) files are 3D CAD models containing curves, surfaces, and geometry. CorelDRAW is primarily a 2D vector graphics editor, so IGS files must be projected or exported as 2D vector or raster formats before importing into CorelDRAW.

1. Open IGS in 3D CAD Software

  • Open the IGS file in software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360.
  • Adjust the view, orientation, and scale of the model.
  • Choose the angle or projection you want to convert to 2D.

2. Export as PDF, SVG, or Image

To make the IGS model usable in CorelDRAW:

  • Export the 3D view as PDF, SVG, or high-resolution PNG/TIFF.
  • Ensure the exported file preserves all required curves and details.

3. Import into CorelDRAW

Once exported:

  • Open CorelDRAW.
  • Go to File → Import and select the exported PDF, SVG, or image.
  • Place it on the canvas and adjust scale, layers, or colors.
  • Save the project as .cdr.

4. Convert to Vector (Optional)

For editable graphics:

  • Select imported raster elements in CorelDRAW.
  • Use Bitmap → Outline Trace to convert into vector paths.
  • Refine nodes, colors, and shapes as needed.
  • Save as CDR.

5. Online Conversion via Conholdate

If CAD software is not available:

  • Upload the IGS file to products.conholdate.app.
  • Convert it to PDF or SVG.
  • Download and open in CorelDRAW.
  • Save as CDR for further editing.

⚠️ Important:
IGS is a 3D CAD format. CorelDRAW only handles 2D graphics, so conversion to 2D (SVG, PDF, or traced image) is required for editing in CDR.
